Two stands with identical movesets can feel completely different once traits enter the picture. This A Universal Time traits guide covers all 53 traits, every Hex variant, and the full subpower system underneath them. You get exact drop rates, the pity thresholds nobody explains properly, and what each effect really does in a fight. Traits are passive buffs. Subpowers are extra moves. Both decide how far your build actually goes.
What Are Traits in A Universal Time?
Traits are passive perks bolted onto an ability. They boost stats or add unique effects, and they matter most once you hit late game content.

Five rarities exist: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic. Only the first three unlock by default. The top two sit behind Ascension progress. Base drop rates are brutal, which is why the pity system exists:
A one in a thousand Mythic rate is harsh. Most players never see one without grinding pity deliberately.
How to Get Traits in AUT?
Four routes exist, and most players use all of them.
- Trait Hands– the main source. Every 25 levels you climb hands you one, and you convert it into a trait roll.
- The Guide NPC quest– a guaranteed trait, completable exactly once. Do this early for your first one.
- Trait Reroller– an NPC in the hub. Pay UPoints for an Epic or higher roll, provided you already hold a trait.
- Boundless Tower– grants temporary traits through upgrades. These do not carry back into the main game.
A pricing note worth checking yourself. Sources disagree on the reroller cost, with some listing 100 UPoints and others 200. Confirm the number in game before budgeting a spree.
Unlocking Legendary and Mythic Pools
Ascension gates the good stuff. You max an ability at level 200, pay 1,000,000 UCoins, and ascend. Levels reset but your unlocked moves stay.
- Ascension Level 5– unlocks the Legendary trait pool.
- Ascension Level 10– unlocks the Mythic trait pool.
Here is the counterintuitive part. Ascending does not improve your odds on any individual roll. It widens the pool while simultaneously pushing your pity target further out.

A Universal Time – Trait Pity System Explained
Each Trait Hand adds one point to a hidden counter. Hit the threshold and the game guarantees you something good.
Three rules govern how the counter behaves. Rolling a Legendary or Mythic without pity still resets you to zero. Rolling an Epic does not reset anything. And you can always pull rare traits organically, pity or no pity.
One discrepancy to flag. The Fandom wiki says an unassisted Legendary resets pity fully, while other community sources claim it only drops by 50. Worth verifying before you plan a long grind around it.
There is also a Hex roll layered on top. Legendary and Mythic traits carry roughly a 10% chance of arriving in Hex form, which changes the trait substantially.
Full Trait List – Common, Rare, and Epic
Thirty eight traits fill the three unlocked pools. Effects are listed exactly as they function in game.

Legendary and Mythic Traits with Hexes
The top two rarities come with a twist. Each has a Hex variant that amplifies the effect while adding a real drawback. Some Hexes are upgrades. Others are traps.

Best Traits to Chase
Not every high rarity trait deserves your slot. This section of our AUT traits guide covers the picks that consistently perform.
- Godly– the cleanest Mythic. Big damage and resistance with no strings attached in its base form.
- Prime– a Legendary that performs like a Mythic. Flat 20% on both offence and defence.
- Cursed– the aggressive pick. Dangerous to run, devastating when you survive at low health.
- Steadfast– underrated Epic. Blocked attacks dealing literally zero damage wins matchups outright.
- Buso Haki– an Epic that does two jobs at once, adding damage and cutting blocked damage.
- Assassin– scales against tanky opponents, which is exactly when you need help most.
Skip Hex variants unless you have read the drawback carefully. Fallen Angelic looks incredible until you realise you can no longer be healed by anyone.
Roblox AUT Subpowers List
Subpowers arrived in the New Universe 3.8 update and work nothing like traits. Rather than passive buffs, they bolt extra moves onto your existing kit.

One detail saves enormous grinding. Subpowers transfer across every copy of the same ability. Unlock Busoshoku Haki on one Silver Chariot and every Silver Chariot you own or later obtain has access to it.
All firearm subpowers need a level 50 or higher ability before the Black Marketeer will trade. Gun Parts themselves drop from chests at legendary rarity, so expect some luck involved.
Speed Force Nexus rates vary sharply by boss. Kars drops it every time. THE-PREVIOUS-STAR sits at 40%, Minos Prime at 20%, and Kuro of a Hundred Plans at just 10%. Farm Kars unless you enjoy suffering.
How the Subpower Weight System Works?
Every player carries a maximum of 10 weight. Each subpower costs some of that budget, so you cannot equip everything at once.
Levelling works through kills. Defeating one NPC awards one point, and subpowers cap at Stage 5. Higher stages demand progressively more kills, and each stage boosts damage, stun duration, or whatever that subpower scales.
Build planning matters here. A five weight subpower at Stage 5 usually beats two cheap ones sitting at Stage 1. Commit to fewer picks and level them properly.
Traits vs Subpowers – Which Should You Grind First?
They solve different problems, so the answer depends on your level.
- Below level 100– chase traits. Trait Hands arrive automatically as you level, and even a Rare trait beats nothing.
- Level 50 and above with UCoins spare– pick up a firearm subpower. Contender is the cheapest entry point.
- Ascension 5 or higher– pity farming becomes worthwhile. Eighty hands for a coin flip at Legendary is a real target.
- Ascension 10– Mythic hunting opens up, though a 25% pity outcome demands patience.
Latest AUT Traits and Subpowers News
Update 6.2 landed in July 2026 with The Ashura and several Early Access Breathing abilities. Trait mechanics themselves stayed untouched, which is good news if you were mid grind.
The wider system context still matters though. uShards remain the currency for crates and Trait Substat rerolls. Skin recycling feeds that economy, turning Epic and lower skins into shards.
Subpowers have expanded steadily since launch, growing from six at release to include the Speedforce and Mirage Blade sets. Expect that list to keep growing with each numbered update.
Where to Get the Latest AUT Updates?
Trait numbers get tuned regularly. The official A Universal Time Discord posts update documents first. Codes only redeem if you have joined the AUT Roblox group.
For per trait detail and change logs, the A Universal Time Traits wiki page stays the community reference. The Subpowers page covers obtainment for each one. You can also load A Universal Time on Roblox and check the Trait Reroller yourself.

No. They unlock higher rarity pools but simultaneously raise your pity requirement from 60 to 80, then to 100.
One trait per ability. Rerolling replaces whatever you currently have, so think before you spend.
As many as fit inside your 10 weight budget. Costs vary per subpower.
Across copies of the same ability, yes. A subpower unlocked on one Silver Chariot works on all of them.
